A Letter from the Founders
Welcome to SCM Academy.
The journey to creating SCM Academy began with a shared belief: that football can be a powerful tool for positive change and personal empowerment. Both of us have experienced the profound impact of mentorship and opportunity in our own lives, and through SCM Academy, we are committed to paying that forward for the next generation.
As a Harvard College student and former player for the Danish National Team, I (Josefine Hasbo) know firsthand the balance and discipline it takes to pursue both academics and athletics. Our goal is to provide our student-athletes with a supportive environment where they can explore all paths available to them—whether that’s pursuing a college degree in the U.S. or chasing the dream of a professional soccer career. We aim to inspire our players to find and follow the paths that are right for them.
From grassroots clubs to our elite academy, SCM Academy’s work is rooted in creating lasting opportunities. Through our partnership with Sport Creates Memories (SCM), we’ve established 90 clubs across Ghana and Kenya, giving thousands of children a chance to play, learn, and grow. Our vision is to continue expanding, offering more young people the chance to discover their potential both on and off the field.
SCM Academy isn’t just about producing top athletes; it’s about fostering well-rounded individuals who will go on to inspire and uplift their communities. By providing full scholarships, we ensure that every talented child, regardless of background, has the opportunity to pursue their dreams. Together, we can make a real, lasting difference—empowering young people and creating role models for future generations.
